Heads ‘N’ Tail Glass Art – Intermediate Class

3 Weeks – $75 tuition + Glass

Heads In this class we will be creating a wall hanging using heads and tails, zinc, Rondels.

What are Heads and Tails? When glass makers create sheets of glass, the ends of those sheets can form unusual and interesting shapes. They cut the glass sheets to precise sizes when they come off of the annealing Lehr and the head ends are what is left over. Sometimes called tail ends, these glass trimming pieces are usually pretty enough to serve as a decorative piece without any changes, but they are great for art projects!

Below are a few links to more ideas.

This class will include Cyndee’s help in creating an awesome wall hanging. We will be using saws, circle cutters, came benders and much more.

Bring glass cutting and soldering equipment. Limited to 2 layers for this class.

Workshop Policies:

The shop is available for your use during certain times for a fee – see below.

Workshops include use of our cutting systems, limited grinder use (ask if you need to use it for your whole project), and luster brush.

Workshop does not include the use of chemicals and supplies, including but not limited to foil, flux, cutting oil, solder, kwik clean®, CJ’s®, finishing compound, glass cleaner, and patinas. We do have a fee option if you forget yours – see below*

Of course we expect you to clean up after yourself!

Sometimes we schedule classes during workshop times so be sure to ask first for availability and to reserve a spot. During other shop hours you may call and see, sometimes we can give you a spot if the shop is not too busy.

Workshop $15 for 2 ½ hours*: We will give you a little help to keep you on track for your own project, but basically you work on your own.

Workshop ‘Plus’ $20 for 2 ½ hours*: We will spend a little extra instruction time with you and help as you need it, still you basically work on your own.

Class Makeup $30 and UP for 2 ½ hours*: If you miss an important class and must make it up we will help you get back on track, but it’s much better to come to your class. If you are just catching up, workshop rates apply. Some Classes CANNOT be made up!
